2007 President Florence

Florence Choy
2007 President

Message from President
“What a magnificent year!” This is what I would like all of us – a team of well-educated members from diverse professional backgrounds to say when only 338 days from now, we look back at 2007. This year will be the year for us to benchmark Victoria Junior Chamber as a professional young leaders and entrepreneurs organization in the community. A year when we gain presence in the media and in the marketplace in general.

“Enhance your Professional Network, Meet your Expectations”. To “walk our talk”, we focus on three goals:

  • Professional image inside out: From head to toe portraying through our dynamic projects and passionate members;
  • Expanding our network: To expand our projects geographical area to Mainland China and Asia countries and inviting more supporting organizations to participate in our projects;
  • Enhancing Individual Development opportunities: “The Professional Series” including Victoria JC concurrent flagships projects - Innobrand 2007 and Grandparents Day; series of management training workshops and leadership seminars, and relaxing social activities.

To accomplish these goals, I’m looking forward to working with all of you cohesively — the board members, officers, full & senior members and Past Presidents. VJC is more relevant than ever before as there has never been such a need for great leadership with a clear vision of the future and the ability to make great visions become realities.

Chinese New Year – The Year of Golden Pig is just ahead of us, and as we have only one year to lead, we don’t have a second to waste. Hold on to this golden opportunity tight!

“Be Professional, Be Victorian”

Florence Choy
2007 President

National Assigned
Executive Officer

Message from
National Assigned Executive Officer
Serving in the JCIHK since 1997, it is my pleasure to serve Victoria Junior Chamber (VJC) as the National Assigned Executive Officer in 2007. I am pleased to work with all of you and I am so happy that President Florence is very capable, she knows what the members want and have a high and noble vision! I am also delighted that all the Past Presidents of Victoria Junior Chamber are very supportive to both your mother chapter as well as JCI Hong Kong.

A place for everyone of us to learn, to build and excel our potential. JCI is also a place full of dreams.

In 1963, Martin Luther King, a famous civil right leader and awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, delivered his speech “I Have a Dream” from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial to 200,000 people.

I have a dream – To Have a prosperous Year 2007!
President Florence has a dream – to Make Victoria JC glows and sparkles
Board of Directors has a dream – to Fulfill your duty and Bring the glory to Victoria JC.

You have made the commitment today to bring honor and prestige to the Organization and it is like a cheque payable to “Victoria Junior Chamber Ltd.” and I wish that you can present this cheque to your members at the end of this year. Do Share your dreams with each other and remember when you face any difficulties, you have brothers and sisters (including me) around you and to support you.

Gene Tang
2007 National Assigned Executive Officer

P Florence

Sharing - What is Professional?
2007 President Florence Choy
Here’s what President Florence has to share with us her perspectives of “Professional”:
  • P – Punctual (how often you see “Professional” people come in ‘too early’ or late?)
  • R – Relevant (need to say more?!)
  • O – Open (open up for ideas)
  • F – Friendly (being a Professional is not everything, stay friendly!)
  • E – Eagerness (this somehow acts as your ‘booster’, sooner or later you will be drop out from the ‘Professional’ list if you don’t have it)
  • S – Satisfactory (being a Professional, your ‘production’ should at least meet a ‘satisfactory’ level)
  • S – Sensible (be sensitive to the market updates)
  • I – Introspection (keep doing this in a periodically basis, this helps you to keep ‘professional’)
  • O – Optimism (stay +ive)
  • N – Niche (you ought to find your niche to secure your ‘professionalism’)
  • A – Axiomatic (this quality is essential as being a Professional)
  • L – Lusty (stay lusty to keep you going…)
IPP Patrick
2007 Immediate Past President Patrick Ko
My Interpretation for Professionalism is as follows:

Being a professional, personally I think we need to consist of 3 basic elements. The first one is good at what your profession. This may be your knowledge and experience in your job and industry, and the working ethics that you should behalf and act within your environment. Second is mean what you do. We all know that man can easily make promise either personal or business but whether you really can deliver what you say is an different story, therefore man should keep his words seriously and trustworthy. Last but not the least is believe in what you belief. This is very important towards your life within your family, work, friend, society and all others that besides you. You need to understand, thoughtful and believe in your direction is right and keep your integrity so that everything can be balanced and smoothen along your life journey.

At the end of the day, everything will be leads by “DO YOUR BEST” is the means of Pro plus Fessions.

2007 Leadership Development Director Boy Leung
Here is my sharing...
