Passion 2008! Greeting to All Victorian,

Time flies. It is 20th of my Presidency for 2008. There are non-stop activities for 2008, it begins with the World President reception dinner. He comments that his vision on “Active Citizen” and drives our organization in focus to CSR “Corporation Social Responsibilities”. His strong message strengthens my belief to drive Victoria Junior Chamber to the next level.

“Inspire Vision; Passion for Action”. During my presidency year, I would like to focus on three goals:
· Vision: To drive our member to be a better “leader” through our signature projects such as Grandparents Day, Innobrand and Kids Summit;

· Passion: To expand our passion and our project’s geographical area to the Mainland and other Asian countries and even invite more supporting organizations to participate in our projects driving our Victorian to join the ASPAC Busan Conference to gain international exposures.

· Action: “The Passion and Action Series” includes Victoria JC concurrent monthly fellowship gathering with the support of passionate speakers to deliver an inspiration to our Victorian.
To accomplish these goals, I’m looking forward to working with all of you actively and closely — the board members, officers, senior, full and prospective members and past Presidents. Having said that please be sure to balance your pleasure and work. I will start off by practicing more sport activities and be a healthy and energetic President to work with all my beloved Victorians.

It is my great pleasure to convey my warmest congratulations to Victoria Junior Chamber on its inauguration of 2008 board of directors.

I am pleased to be the National Assigned Executive Officer of Victoria Junior Chamber. To live up the 2008 slogan of JCI Hong Kong “We Lead, We Care, We are JCs!”, I would work closely, share my experience & knowledge and acting as a bridge between JCI Hong Kong and chapters.

Long life project “The Grandparents’ Day” is a signature in its Community Development program to arouse the care & respect to the elderly; another flagship project “INNOBRAND” creates platform for businesses to grow with creativity; also the “Kid Summit” to develop international friendship and culture exchanges. Through different projects, activities and trainings, members have plenty opportunities to reinforce leadership skills through Action.

What an exciting and challenging slogan! To cope with this slogan, we hope to make the content of this year CONTACT more exciting, interesting and fruitful. Nonetheless, our diligent effort is not enough, your involvement and support are essential. Our CONTACT is a quarterly issue and we hope all Victorians and non-Victorians are always looking for the next issue.

Victoria Junior Chamber 1st Joint Happy Hour with Kowloon Junior Chamber and North District Junior Chamber was successfully held on January 25, 2008 in "Prior" Causeway Bay. With the enthusiasm and great support from 3 hosting chapters, we have got a great result! So glad that we have more than 100 people came to our happy hour. I believe everyone enjoyed and knew more new friends from other chapters.

We have held a "mini" fund raising during our happy hour and we helped HK Polytechnic University to raise HK$4000 for their Hong Kong Community College on that night. Thank you to all the generous Jaycees!

I hope more of you will join in our upcoming PR gatherings.

InnoBrand 2007 was successfully held on year 2007 to focus on how to make use of the Logo in branding strategy to achieve the goal of “Grasp Customer’s Mind”. Branding strategies help companies to plan and market their position to further develop and achieve their ultimate goals. Branding is an intangible value that can make a company more competitive and can differentiate itself from others. A successful branding strategy is to prove to your client the potential increased market share based on your proposal. Following from the positive feedbacks from supporting organizations, sponsors from all kinds, media and participants, in this year we will continue to organizes innoBrand 2008 which will focus on how digital marketing help branding.

Officer Training Camp 2007 has been successfully held on 24th and 25th November 2008 in Best Western Shenzhen Felicity Hotel. In the training, we have invited Senator Duncan Tai and Senator Benny Lam to be our trainers. They have shared their knowledge as well as their experience with our coming board member. The participants responded that the training camp was very useful to improve their JC knowledge as well as the responsibility to be a board member, enhance knowledge on project management, and built up the team spirit. We are very appreciated for the trainers’ effort to make the training a great success. Otherwise, we would not receive such positive feedback from participants.

It's my honour to be the chairlady of the significance day of VJC - 57th Anniversary cum Year End Awards Presentation & X'mas Party. It's my first time to act as chairlady of VJC's event. It's a valuable experience to me with good learning opportunity. It's successfully held and thank you my great OC team again for their commitment, efforts and hard work. Special thanks to all honourable guests for coming and making a memorable night to VJC.

I am honored to be the chairman of Inauguration Ceremony in this year. It is good starting of Victoria Junior Chamber & I would not forget these memories as especially of speech from our guest of honor "The Hon. Mrs. Rita Fan Hsu Lai-Tai, GBM GBS, JP, The President of Legislative Council", she said that all of our Victorian to keep smiling, keep playing & also keep working which is really a good impression to me with always on my mind.

When we came up with the slogan together with President Johnny, we thought that communication skills, project management skills, and other leadership skills can be learnt through practice. But what is required from each and every member is his/her heart – vision and passion!

 

The slogan gives me an uplifting spirit everytime I see it. It is very energetic and motivational. I believe fully in the slogan and I hope all of your will get something from it, after 2008!

Through our 2008 slogan and also our chapter’s “Core Value Statement”, I sense that not only President Johnny will lead us to achieve 200% of what is to be done, but with satisfaction and passion as well. Every year, a new president and board gives something different to the chapter, and vice versa. This year, I look forward to be a passionate member and a visionary leader in the future. Go Victorians!
