Junior Chamber International Victoria (JCI Victoria), founded in 1950, is a charitable organization dedicated to developing leadership potentials among young people.

Our organization is the most senior local chapter among all the 21 chapters affiliated to Junior Chamber International (Hong Kong)/ JCIHK, which is affiliated to Junior Chamber International (JCI). The JCI organization represents a network of highly motivated and forward looking young people between the age of 18 and 40.

Since establishment, JCI Victoria has proactively responded to challenges in the community, helping to generate awareness on important social and economic issues which has profound impact to our daily lives. Our objectives are carried out through the four areas of opportunities, namely - Individual, Community, Business and International.

We are a bilingual Chapter with both English and Chinese as the official language. Nevertheless, as a tradition, English is the priority language in official meetings and documents, whereas Cantonese is commonly used in informal occasions. Our members are male or female.

JCI Victoria is a charitable organization under section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance, Hong Kong

That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life;
That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations;
That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise;

JCI Philosophy

  • Making a World of Difference:  There is a limit to what the Government are able to achieve in society.  JCI members take on challenges around them through local development initiatives.  These tailored projects require us to take strategic thinking and critical planning to craft creative solutions to problems of our communities.

  • Be Better:  We think critically about society's greatest challenges and act on behalf of our communities to be part of the solutions.  We seek better solutions to build better communities.

  • The Original Active Citizens:  As global citizens, we all have rights and responsibilities, as well as shared goals.  Our Founder, Henry Giessenbier, was the original active citizen.  He took steps to engage young people in civic involvement in 1914.  JCI members worldwide followed his lead ever since.

  • A Grassroot Movement with International Scope:  Jaycees all over the world act together to address problems in our communities and are united in a global movement creating global impact.
